Pottery

Besids my graphic design skils and traditional art skills such as painting and drawing, I dablled in a bit of pottery in sophomore year of highschool for the first time. I guess I got lucky into finding out about how much I enjoy this medium. I didn't think I would be any good at it honestly. But to my surprise, I am. Even though I did pottery for a short time, I found it therapeutic and exciting.

My favorite piece

In my opinion, I think this is the best pottery piece I created so far. I love making bowls, but I wanted to create something different, therefore, I came up with this design. I entered this in the Latin Competiton in highschool and got first place in area and state.

Candle

I also entered this piece into the high school Latin Competition and it for placed both in area and state. My inspiration behind this piece is my love of candles. Rather than having a candle holder, I wanted my pottery to trap the candle instead. I made some thin strokes and openings based on henna designs. The best time to use this pottery is at night time where the burst of light shines beautifully.

Peacock

Peacock is an interesting animal with the amount of sass and the beautiful feathers it has. Naturally, I just had to create a sculpture of a peacock that happens to be disproportional. It took about a month or two to create individuals pieces along with the hand-carved details.
